Check out Brita Climate Ride‚ a five day supported tour from New York City to Washington DC in September to call for renewable energy and solutions to global warming.

This event is the first of its kind. It starts in the urban landscape of Manhattan and passes through rural woodlands in New Jersey, pastoral Amish country in Pennsylvania, and equine estates in Maryland before arriving on the steps of our Capitol in DC. Along the way, expert speakers will address the riders, discussing the solutions to our climate crisis.

Our riders are a diverse and fun group of people. We have students, energy experts, leaders from sustainable businesses, and even polar researchers. It will be 5 days of camaraderie and pedaling for a clean energy future.

The ride is almost full, and everything is going great. But here’s the problem: we don’t have any Xtracycle riders.
Implicit in our message is that bicycles can be a solution to global warming, and the sport utility bicycle is a great example of this possibility. When we take pictures of us rolling to the steps of the Capitol building, what could be better than to showcase bicycle transportation via the Xtracycle?
